Why birth photography?
Birth is one of those precious opportunities in life that you just can't get back. Just like on your wedding day you only get one shot and then the moments are gone in a blink of an eye.
Your baby takes their first breath ONE TIME. Your partner cuts the cord ONE TIME. This precious new life is placed on your chest ONE TIME.
Thinking about photos of you in one of your most vulnerable states in life might feel intimate or TMI. You might think your body image is not what it used to be. You might think these photos will capture you at your worst or in your most painful moments.
BUT THESE ARE THE MOMENTS YOU ARE STRONG; THEY ARE ONE TIME ONLY.
Sanyika the Doula, LLC services offer these services alone or as add-on's with doula services.
It is not to capture your most glamourous self. It's not to post on social media (although as a birthworker we love to see it #normalizebirth). It might not be the best choice to hang around the house or send as a christmas card.
These photos are to visually tell your birth story. They are to preserve the memories of love and family and they help capture the moments you forgot, showing how your birth truly was in all it's beauty.
